1 · The chain its identity never changes

Name / tickerxCoin · XID
Genesis block3bc1a36df7d786a5c4584e21d248e0a3785a96aaa60a5b3959dfad50283379f2
Genesis message“Hic experimentum prosperat - 2026-09-26 - 10,000,000,000,000,000 sats, 100M XID”
Latin: “here the experiment prospers”. Written into block 0 for good: change one letter and the genesis hash changes.
Decode it from the block

Block 0’s coinbase, exactly as the chain stores it (hex):

04ffff001d01044c4f486963206578706572696d656e74756d2070726f737065726174202d20323032362d30392d3236202d2031302c3030302c3030302c3030302c3030302c30303020736174732c203130304d20584944

The first 9 bytes are markers (04 ffff001d difficulty, 01 04, 4c 4f = “79 bytes follow”); every pair after them is one letter (48=H, 69=i, 63=c …):

Hic experimentum prosperat - 2026-09-26 - 10,000,000,000,000,000 sats, 100M XID

Check it with your own node: nex-cli getblock $(nex-cli getblockhash 0) 2 → tx[0].vin[0].coinbase.

Any chain with a different genesis hash is not xCoin, whatever it calls itself.

2 · Connect no DNS needed

A new node finds peers through DNS seeds. If those are gone, give it addresses by hand. Add these lines to nex.conf (or pass them as -addnode=):

addnode=172.96.186.49:9333
addnode=198.252.107.13:9333
addnode=103.119.217.105:9333
addnode=198.252.101.117:9333
addnode=54.20.130.14:9333
addnode=136.118.128.212:9333

One answering peer is enough: it tells your node about every other node it knows. Then ask what you found:

nex-cli getconnectioncount
nex-cli getpeerinfo

DNS seeds, used automatically while they work:

seed.xcoinproject.com   seed.superknet.com   seed.xcoinminer.com
seed.minedifferent.com  seed.movepunk.com

Build from source (macOS or Linux):

Or download the source of this release: .zip · .tar.gz

git clone https://github.com/SystemThreat/xCoin.git && cd xCoin
git checkout v31.99.1
cmake -B build && cmake --build build -j
./build/bin/nexd -daemon

Check you have the real release: after git checkout v31.99.1, this must print exactly the commit below.

git rev-parse HEAD

4 · Check the chain are you on the real one?

A checkpoint is one block every 1,000 heights. Ask your node for the same height; the hash must match exactly:

nex-cli getblockhash 2000
HeightBlock hash
2,0005f710368c643c7b61722b50de8e7bcd51bae99f21f0ae7ee552a3c665a083412

Newest first. This page was last updated at height 2,438.

5 · Mine pools are optional

Mining needs only your own node, the small pool program that ships with the source code, and an xpa1r… address you control. Solo, a block you find pays its whole reward to you, with no fee.

  1. Run nexd and wait until nex-cli getblockchaininfo shows it caught up. Never mine on a node with no peers: its blocks may be on a chain nobody else follows.
  2. Start your own pool next to it, from the source folder (solo by default, standard Python only):
    XCOIN_RPC_COOKIE="$HOME/.nex/.cookie" XCOIN_NATPMP=0 \
    XCOIN_STATS_DIR="$HOME/.xcoin-pool" python3 xcoin-pool/xcoin-pool.py
    On macOS the cookie is "$HOME/Library/Application Support/NEX/.cookie". XCOIN_NATPMP=0 keeps the port off your router.
  3. Point a MetalDAG miner at it. NerdMiner on an Apple Silicon Mac:
    ./NerdMiner xpa1r…your-address --pool 127.0.0.1:3333 --base 1790380800 --worker mymac
    --base 1790380800 is the genesis time (2026-09-26 00:00 UTC), which sets the MetalDAG epochs. It must be exactly this number.

Ordinary Bitcoin SHA-256 machines (ASICs) cannot mine xCoin: MetalDAG is a different proof of work.

6 · Mirrors the same page everywhere · if one is gone, try the next

Every mirror serves this exact file, byte for byte. Nothing on any mirror differs: same text, same seeds, same checkpoints.

Community mirrors machine-checked · not signed

Anyone can add a mirror: serve this page unchanged on your own onion address, then submit it on any official onion (genesis /submit · #2 /submit). Every official onion checks it over Tor each hour and lists it automatically while it serves the current signed release byte for byte. A changed page is dropped at once. This list is not part of the signed page: check any mirror yourself with the two commands below.

The live list shows on the onion mirrors (/community.json there).

Check a mirror is genuine: every mirror serves manifest.json and its signature manifest.json.sig next to this page. With allowed_signers (the public release key) and two stock commands:

ssh-keygen -Y verify -f allowed_signers -I release@xcoinproject \
  -n xcoin-survival -s manifest.json.sig < manifest.json
shasum -a 256 index.html    # must equal "index.html" in manifest.json

Run your own mirror: anyone may, on their own onion address. The mirror kit and its checker are free (MIT); this page is public domain (CC0).

Keep your own copy: save this page. It is one file and works offline. If you run a node, host a mirror too and submit it above.

7 · Sealed commitments proof of what was known, and when

A sealed commitment proves the project knew something on a given date without saying what, until it is revealed. Its fingerprint, SHA-256 of xcoin-commit/1|text|salt, is put into an xCoin transaction, so the block's time is the proof. Once revealed, anyone can recompute it and find it already in that block.
